What are the point of retreats..
So what are the point of Retreats?
I just spent a good day on one today...
We talked about the same problems that we had last year and almost came to the same commitments- one is reminded of the phrase "old wine in new bottles". I think it is an insult to staff and the intelligence of a number of people that senior management really think that by giving a day off, supplying us with tea, coffee, a nice lunch and a good talk will convince us to work towards top-down goals?
I hope that my impressions are wrong and that things are going to change.. But being a good wine drinker I sometime wonder if the bottles have really changed..
it's nothing a good management consultant couldn't "fix" i am sure ;)
